Homepage & banners #
Your channel homepage is the first thing fans see when they arrive. This guide covers the two ways you shape it: arranging the rows of content that make up the page, and creating banners to feature what matters most right now.
Both tools shape what fans see, but they sit in different places. Banners are the rotating hero at the very top of the page. The sections below are the rows of content you arrange yourself. They work together to make a homepage feel curated and current.
Homepage layout #
Your homepage is built from rows, called sections, stacked down the page. You decide which content appears, in what order, with the most important rows near the top where fans see them first.
How the page is stacked #
The top of the homepage follows a fixed order, then your own sections fill the space below.
- Banner carousel, the rotating hero at the very top, covered later on this page.
- Upcoming live streams, filled in automatically from the broadcasts you have scheduled.
- Your sections, the rows of content you add and order yourself.
Adding and arranging sections #
Each section shows the contents of a playlist or a collection that you created in your on-demand library. Adding one to the homepage does not move or copy the content; it simply points the homepage at it.
- ●
Open the homepage manager
From the dashboard, go to the Fan Centre and open the Homepage manager.
- ●
Add a section
Select Add Section, choose whether it is a playlist or a collection, then pick the specific one you want to feature.
- ●
Choose whether to show the title
Decide whether the section's name appears above the row. Showing it helps fans understand the grouping; hiding it gives a cleaner look.
- ●
Drag to reorder
New sections are added at the bottom. Drag them up or down to set the order. Changes save as you go and fans see the new layout straight away.
Playlists and collections look similar on the page but behave differently when a fan taps a tile.
| Playlist section | Collection section | |
|---|---|---|
| Shows | A row of videos | A row of playlists |
| Tapping a tile | Plays that video | Opens that playlist |
| Best for | A themed run of content, e.g. "Best Goals" | Grouping related playlists, e.g. "League Coverage" |
Banners #
Banners are the large, rotating images at the very top of your homepage. They are your shop window: use them to push the next big match, a new subscription offer, or a piece of content you want every fan to see. Fans who tap a banner are taken to the content it promotes.
Creating a banner #
A banner is created alongside a stream or a piece of on-demand content, during the promotion step of setting that content up.
- ●
Upload a banner image
At the promotion step, upload a high-resolution image. A larger, sharper image always looks better, and you should keep important detail near the centre so nothing vital is cut off on smaller screens.
- ●
Set it active
Mark the banner as active so it is eligible to appear. An inactive banner is saved but stays hidden until you turn it on.
- ●
Schedule it, if you want
Optionally set a date for the banner to go live. Leave it blank to show the banner straight away.
- ●
Save
The banner is created and added to the end of your banner order, ready to manage from the Banners page.
Managing banners #
Open Fan Centre then Banners to see your banners split into two lists, and to set the order they rotate in.
Active Switched on and past its start date. These are showing on the homepage right now, rotating in the order you set.
Upcoming Switched on but with a start date still in the future. These wait in the wings and appear automatically when their date arrives.
Inactive Switched off. Hidden from fans regardless of dates, and easy to switch back on when you need them.
Drag banners to reorder them; the one at the top shows first as the carousel rotates. To retire a promotion, open the banner and switch it off rather than deleting it, so you can reuse it later.
Best practices #
Lead with what's next
Put your soonest fixture or biggest promotion first in the carousel, so fans see it the moment they land.
Keep it readable
Choose images where any text stands out and the key subject sits in the middle, where it survives cropping on phones.
Refresh regularly
Swap out banners and reorder sections as the season moves on. A stale homepage tells fans nothing new is happening.
Don't overcrowd
A handful of strong sections beats a long, sprawling page. Retire rows that have served their purpose.
